On Saturday, Nov. 19 Troop 27 continued our pre Thanksgiving holiday tradition of collecting food donations with the Scouting for Food program.
We meet at Marlin Park in Redwood Shores at 8:30AM. A little rain during the morning but rain would never slow down troop 27!
We collected 1,941 pounds of food and delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Carlos. We had 19 scouts there to help, so that was just over 100 pounds of food for each scout that attended! We didn’t beat the Record but there is always next year.
Today we also received $160 in cash donations so before our Scoutmaster Mr. Ammenti and the driving team went to the Food Bank, they stopped by the dollar store and picked up about 200 cans of food! Thanks to all the Scouts, ASM’s, Drivers and parents that helped with Scouting for food today!
